Each month we will aim to pick a good cause to donate to.
Here is a list of charities we have donated to so far
"We fund pioneering research to identify why pregnancy goes wrong, which helps us to understand how we can prevent complications and loss, as well as enabling specialist care for people at our clinics, research centres and across the NHS.
We provide expert, midwife-led advice for parents before, during and after pregnancy, working together towards safer, healthier pregnancies.
We foster a connected, caring community, united in our goal to make pregnancy safer for all and advocating for and supporting those who have lost babies."
We chose this charity as its a cause thats close to the Some Funguys Family and we want to be able to give back to a charity that has helped so many familys.
"01. Foodbank
We operate 8 foodbanks across the north west, central and east of Edinburgh.
02. More than food
Our More Than Food projects offer a range of support to people including, benefits and debt advice, housing and employment.
03. Other services
As part of our More Than Food Project we operate a Money Advice Service and Mental Health Project."
We chose this charity as during the Covid-19 pandemic there were huge increases of people needing to rely on food banks. As a business that is we believe that food banks are an unfortunate necessity during the crisis and we wanted to support local people.
"Who We Are and What We Do
We turn surplus food into healthy meals for those who need them.
We are a volunteer movement responding to the COVID-19 crisis.
We take food donations and convert them into breakfasts, lunches, dinners and treats. Community volunteers then package these meals into 'day packs' for delivery across Edinburgh.
Each and every meal is provided free of charge."
During the lockdowns of 2020, pretty much evereyone in hospitality, myself included, found themselves either out of work or furloughed. As a workforce that is used to hardwork and generally averse to foodwaste, this organisation has helped turn food waste from shutdown hospitality industry to provide hundreds of thousands of meals for people in Edinburgh free of charge.
